Who We Are
Mission Statement
The Chapel Jonesboro is a church devoted to Jesus, passionate about God, and committed to genuine worship. We strive to help individuals and families grow and thrive spiritually. Our heart is to cultivate a culture of belonging. Our mission is to transform lives by engaging effective methods to reach as many souls as possible for Jesus Christ. We focus on guiding them in Christian living and spiritual growth, empowering them to live more fully, love more deeply, serve more generously, and give more abundantly equipping them to make a significant impact in the world.
Vision Statement
At the core of our ministry is the transformative power of Jesus Christ, aimed at seeing individuals saved, healed, set free, empowered, and actively serving. Our mission is to reach and impact people of all ages and backgrounds, assuring everyone that no matter their past, there is a hopeful future in Jesus. Our vision is rooted in Luke 14:23, which says, “Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.” We are called to actively seek those with whom we can share the gospel of Jesus Christ, following His example by reaching out to those who are hurting in body, mind, and spirit. By being a “light” in a dark world, we hope that many will see His light shining through us and be drawn to Him.
what do we believe?
We are a non-denominational church rooted in Pentecostalism, believing in the entirety of the Bible as fully and equally inspired by God. The Chapel Jonesboro has embraced the following Declarations of Faith as our official statement of doctrine:
We affirm the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead, and now resides at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor.
We recognize that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that repentance is commanded by God for the forgiveness of sins. - We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth come through faith in the blood of Christ.
We affirm sanctification following the new birth, achieved through faith in Christ's blood, the Word, and the Holy Spirit.
We hold that holiness is God's standard of living for His people.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit that follows a cleansed heart.
We affirm that speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
We practice water baptism by immersion, instructing all who repent to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that divine healing is provided for all through the atonement.
We observe the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints' feet.
We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus, who will first resurrect the righteous dead and gather the living saints to Him in the air and then reign on earth for a thousand years.
We affirm the bodily resurrection, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
